The Sound of AI Job Post for Amplifon X

Job title

Embedded Audio Machine Learning Engineer

Location

Remote working, but based in Italy. Willing to travel, most of all in the Italian territory. We only accept candidates who live in Italy or who are willing to relocate.

Who we are

Amplifon X is Amplifon’s internal R&D business unit and powerhouse, a dynamic team dedicated to pioneering software and hardware solutions in the field of audiology.

At Amplifon X, we thrive on pushing the boundaries of what's possible, creating groundbreaking tools that enhance the way we deliver hearing care and we perceive and interact with sound.

We are part of Amplifon, the global leader of hearing care, and at the same time we share the innovative, fast, entrepreneurial spirit of a startup with many ambitious projects from pure R&D to advanced go-to-market of solutions ready to market.

We are a fast growing team of around 40 Developer&Designer&Engineers, that already delivered patented and one-of-a-kind solutions like:

  • the first mobile based audiometer on Apple ecosystem, with an unique very advanced DSP for a new state of art Real Ear Measurement (i.e. fft, several digital filters, proprietary equalizer in third octave bands of 4 mic streams in real time + estimation of frequency response of speakers) now used in around 500 stores and counting;
  • the first and only mobile based tele-audiology solution, leveraging on proprietary video communication system;
  • an advanced DAC Switcher, 6 layers, full internally designed (from PCB to its shell), which includes custom advanced firmware and proprietary communication protocol;
  • the first over-the-internet, BLE proxy solution bypassing mandatory hardware-system to fit hearing devices;
  • the first app connecting any smartphone to any hearing devices of all major hearing aids manufacturers.

Who we are looking for

Are you passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technology to revolutionize the hearing care and audiological experience?

Welcome to the forefront of Innovation! We are seeking driven individuals to join Amplifon X.

As part of our team, you'll have the unparalleled opportunity to shape the future of audiological technology, merging creativity with technical expertise to craft solutions that make a tangible impact on people's lives.

From developing intuitive software applications that redefine hearing assistance to engineering state-of-the-art hardware devices, as end-to-end product owner, our team is committed to excellence in every aspect of audiological innovation.

You’ll work on a new R&D project, aimed to revolutionize the hearing industry, that typically is a conservative industry, following a consolidated approach in bringing product novelty to customers and characterized by limited break-through innovation and a slow pace.

Amplifon starting from first principles, without baggage/heritage/pre-conceptions, is interested in setting up a purely R&D focused project, aiming to explore whether it’s possible to conceive - starting from scratch - completely different innovational audiological features which would ultimately benefit the hearing experience of customers.

Join us on this exciting journey where your ideas, skills, and passion converge to shape the next generation of auditory solutions. Together, let's pave the way for a world where technology amplifies not just sound, but human potential.
